A brand new stainless steel chronometer certified automatic 41mm case size gentleman's Bremont Hawking (HAWKING-SS) featuring a black hole swirl-effect dial with a retrograde small second indicator at 6 o’clock and a grand date at 12 o’clock. This particular watch comes on a black Bremont leather strap.
The back of the watch features a glass back showing four wooden disks taken from the desk at which Hawking contemplated the mysteries of the universe, it also features a piece of meteorite integrated into its caseback to symbolise the cosmos. The formation of stars as they appeared in the night sky above Oxford on the birth of Professor Stephen Hawking in 1942 is hand decorated into the surface of the steel caseback. The watch’s serial number is printed on paper from original copies of a 1979 seminal research paper commonly referred to as “The ‘nuts’ and ‘bolts’ of gravity”, co-written with one of Hawking’s longest serving collaborators, Professor Gary Gibbons, that sought to understand the thermal properties of black holes.
