Limited to 2012 pieces world-wide: An unworn stainless steel mechanical hand wound movement Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch Ultraman 'Speedy Tuesday' wristwatch (318.104.22.168.01.001) featuring a black baton dial with contrast orange chronograph markers and chronograph seconds hand. On the 9 o’clock subdial, the face of the Ultraman character is visible in UV light, while the hand of the subdial is shaped like Ultraman’s “beta capsule.” The dial is surrounded by a black tachymetre bezel and hesalite plexi-crystal. This particular watch comes on a black and orange NATO Omega strap and is complete with its original box, leather strap, original sales receipt and all relevant paperwork including its certificate of authenticity being originally UK supplied as new in September 2018.
OMEGA’s 1967 “Moonwatch” has been a hit with collectors ever since it appeared in the Japanese TV show “RETURN OF ULTRAMAN.” Now, that popular chronograph has been reborn – in the form of an exclusive #SpeedyTuesday model that is limited to just 2,012 pieces.
In the early 1970s, the Japanese production team behind the “RETURN OF ULTRAMAN” TV Series picked an OMEGA Speedmaster “Moonwatch” for its monster-fighting kit. That particular model differed from most others thanks to its uniquely finished dial and orange central seconds hand, and it has been part of science-fiction history ever since.
