Oris

Used Oris Watches

In 1904, Georges Christian and Paul Cattin founded Oris in Holstein, Switzerland. The first factory was operated by just 24 workers; by 1911 this had expanded to over three hundred people. To assist its employees, Oris built flats and houses for them and soon became the largest employer in the district. Christian died in 1927, after which the company appointed Oscar Herzog as CEO. He continued in this position for the next 43 years. By the 1960s, Oris had become one of the top watchmakers in Switzerland. Oris is well known for its automatic movement cal.645, which it began producing in 1966. In 1991, the company introduced the complication movement cal.581, which had a number of innovative features. The popularity of Oris continued to increase and in 2003 it became the sole supplier of watches to Formula One’s BMW Williams team. Today, the company produces only mechanical watches, despite having produced quartz watches in the past. Oris watches are a luxury brand and one the Mark Worthington Jewellers is giving you the chance to get your hands on at a significantly reduced price. We stock pre-owned Oris timepieces that look as good as new and would make the perfect gift for yourself or a loved one.
