The luxury Swiss watchmaker Chronoswiss was founded in 1983 by Gerd R. Lang. The company is based in Lucerne in Switzerland.

Lang founded the company with the sole aim of manufacturing “extraordinary mechanical timepieces”. He previously worked for a number of other top watchmaking companies, which is where he gained his experience. In order to remain an exclusive brand, Chronoswiss produces no more than 7,000 timepieces each year. Every watch is hand finished using movements that are based on the Enicar 165. The brand is well known for its innovative timepieces, which has earned it a great reputation among collectors and those within the horological industry. And all this despite the fact that the company is relatively new in terms of watchmakers. Chronoswiss was behind the very first skeletonised chronograph, and the company developed the Régulateur – the world’s first regulator-style dial wristwatch. Swiss entrepreneur Oliver Ebstein, along with wife Eva, took over the management of Chronoswiss in 2012. The fact that so few Chronoswiss watches are produced each year makes the brand highly sought-after.
