Bruno Belamich and Carlos A. Rosillo founded Bell & Ross in 1993 as part of a university project. The pair wanted to create watches that were tough while also being functional. The first watches produced by Bell & Ross were made in Germany by Sinn Spezialuhren, a company that specialised in tool watches. Bell & Ross is well known for its square watch faces with the company logo printed on the dial. The first watch produced by the company was named the BR01. Many of Bell & Ross initial watches that were produced by Sinn were rebranded as Sinn watches. However, the company started to design their own watches, which Sinn continued to manufacture. This included the Type Demineur watch, which was used by the French Security Services bomb disposal unit.
