An excellent condition pre-owned A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Up/Down (234.026) featuring a Silver Arabic numeral dial with two sub-dials for small seconds and power reserve, with the power reserve giving the watch its name. This latest version is radically different to previous Up/Downs from Lange, at least on the inside. The L051.2 movement has a distinct architecture, with an enlarged mainspring that provides a whopping 72 hours of power. It also shows more of the movement, so you can see the wheels turning when you wind the crown. Combined with the sleek, refined exterior, including Lange's signature blued steel hands and 39mm white gold case, this makes the Up/Down a collector’s favourite. This particular watch comes on a black crocodile pin buckle A. Lange & Sohne strap and is complete with its original box & all relevant paperwork being originally supplied as new in 29th January 2015.

Used A.Lange and Sohne Watches

The luxury German watchmaker A. Lange & Sohne was founded in Glashutte by Ferdinand Adolph Lange in 1845. The company was, from the outset, known as a producer of top-quality pocket watches. The highest quality products were designated with the 1A brand.

A. Lange & Sohne continued to produce pocket watches right up until the Second World War, at which they began started making oversized wristwatches for German airmen.

The company was subsequently taken over and its property nationalised during the Soviet administration after the war and the brand disappeared. However, after German reunification in 1990, Walter Lange, the great-grandson of Ferdinand Adolph, restored the company with Gunter Blumlein. With the help of a number of Swiss watch manufacturers that included Jaeger-LeCoultre and IWC, the company rose from the ashes. Its first range of wristwatches was introduced in 1994. These days, the company is a part of the Richemont Group and its products are sold all over the world. If you would love your own A. Lange & Sohne watch, look no further than Mark Worthington Jewellers. We stock a huge range of pre-owned watches, which include exquisite timepieces from the A. Lange & Sohne brand.
